Position Summary

The Field Supervisor is responsible for scheduling and coordinating Pipeline and Facility Projects, including the selection, hiring, and oversight of specialty trade employees/ contractors. The Field Supervisor ensures that the project(s) are completed on time and within budget.

Qualifications

  • Provide overall supervision, coordination and scheduling of all construction activities for pipeline and facility maintenance and construction
  • Develop and maintain excellent relationships with Clients, Engineers, Employees, Subcontractors and Public
  • Ensure project profitability, adhere to schedules and ensure client satisfaction
  • Communicate with office and construction manager or needs and process of project
  • Maintain appropriate field documentation, adhere to Health and Safety rules and regulations
  • Ensure quality documentation is maintained and filled out properly

Required Knowledge and Skill set

  • Education to include a Trade Journeyman Certificate and /or Red Seal, Technical College Diploma or equivalent combination of technical training and/or related experience. Pipefitting Discipline Preferred
  • Minimum 5 year’s construction and supervision experience or equivalent.
  • Proven ability to supervise profitable construction project
  • Able to effectively lead field staff
  • In-depth understanding of industrial construction such as; codes, technology, equipment, methods, cost control, scheduling and safety requirements

Qualifications:

  • Willing to travel
  • Must have smooth handling of controls
  • Ability to strip as well as finish grade leases/Right of Way
  • Knowledge of soil identification
  • Ability to work safely around people and other equipment
  • Ability to service and grease own equipment

Required Skills: 

  • Previous experience in pipeline or facility construction
  • Must have previous experience operating Grader. Operation of Hoe, Dozer AND Grader will be selected first.

Safety Certifications Required:

  • Standard First Aid
  • Enform H2S Alive
  • CSTS, PCST or Equivalent
  • ACGA Endorsed Ground Disturbance Supervisory Level II

Position Summary:

STRAIT is looking for experienced Labourers and Welder Helpers for project based Pipeline and Facility work throughout Western Canada.

Role and Responsibilities

  • Identify and report hazards or unsafe work practices
  • Participate in pre-job toolbox meetings to identify potential hazards and measures to eliminate or minimize them
  • Load and unload construction materials, and move materials to work areas
  • Remove debris at construction sites
  • Assist in aligning pipes and perform related activities during oil and gas pipeline construction
  • Fuel equipment when needed
  • Clean construction work areas
  • Assist Welder in providing required materials and tools
  • Assist in the preparation of material for welding by cutting or grinding using pipe cutters, hammer and chisel, cutting torch, and/or grinder
  • Set material in stands, racks, hoists, etc. for welding
  • Set up equipment and weld parts
  • Operate metal cleaning equipment to remove excess welds, rust, scale and other materials from surfaces of metal products
  • Complete tasks directed by the supervisor

Qualifications and Education Requirements

  • 1 year+ within pipeline and facility construction
  • Safety Certifications required: Standard First Aid, Enform H2S, CSTS or PCST and ACGA Endorsed Ground Disturbance Supervisory or Level II
  • Safe and positive attitude

  • Ensure that all equipment and materials are unloaded and delivered in a timely manner without damage
  • Accurately pick and prepare materials to be used in projects according to work order requirements

  • Loading and unloading freight received
  • Maintaining stock
  • Operating Wheel Loader, Skid steer, and Telehandler – regularly performing checks to report deficiencies

We are currently looking for a Bus Driver/Labourer to join our growing team at our Fort St John Branch!

The Bus Driver’s responsibilities will include but not limited to:

  • Ensure the safety of all passengers
  • Follow corporate safety program and maintenance program
  • Pre/post trip inspections
  • Complete daily log/time records as required
  • Conducts/and documents thorough trip inspections
  • Immediately reports any defect with the equipment
  • Cleans equipment as required
